Solar (PV) Laminator Custom Built

The Hochschule Offenburg, University of Applied Sciences in Germany required a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) custom built laminator as part of setting up a PV laboratory for its Renewable Energy Department.

EETS (Energy Environmental Technical Services) was approached to provide a quotation for a unit to meet their requirements, and finally won an international tender to supply the Solar Photovoltaic  (PV) equipment.

The custom built  Solar Photovoltaic (PV) laminator was required to meet exact dimensional constraints, to be able to operate at high lamination temperatures, and to work with both foil backed and glass-glass construction.

The temperature uniformity was a critical part of the design brief.

The compact footprint required a customised frame and design of the services needed to operate the unit.

Project constraints meant that the  Solar Photovoltaic (PV) laminator had to be delivered in accordance with a tight timescales.

An Energy Environmental Technical Service (EETS) engineer was required to connect the machine on-site and also to train the staff in the detail of operation of the machine.

The University will operate the machine as part of their research and development activities which hopefully will lead to further improvements in the range and performance of materials used in PV products.
